Synonyms:
Ptiloria exigua (Nuttall) Greene

Stephanomeria exigua is a tall annual, even up to 2 meters in height. The inflorescence is open. The heads have pinkish ray flowers. The leaves are already withered by the time the flowers open and the basal ones are linear. The pappus is of bristles that are plumose on the distal half. Stephanomeria exigua is found at lower elevations in the Gila.
