Xanthocephalum sphaerocephalum var. eriocarpum (A. Gray) Shinners
Gutierrezia sphaerocephala is an annual with yellow disc and ray flowers. The stem leaves have one prominent vein. It is similar to Gutierrezia wrightii but that plant has 3-5 veined leaves and generally is found at higher elevation.
