Clematis ligusticifolia is a middle to upper elevation vine. It shrouds smaller shrubs. The leaves are mostly 3-5cm long with usually shallow, blunt lobes. The leaves are glabrous on the upper surface and glabrous to sparsely pubescent on the lower surface. The white flowers appear in clusters.
